Kamiarizuki (The Month of the Gods)

Hello, this is Migita Honten.

The 10th month of the lunar calendar is called “Kannazuki” (the month without gods) across Japan, but in Shimane Prefecture, it is uniquely known as “Kamiarizuki” (the month with gods).

This is because during this time, all the eight million deities of Japan gather in Izumo, leaving other regions without their divine presence, hence the name “Kamiarizuki.”

Although we’re a bit removed from Izumo, we warmly invite you to visit Masuda City, where our brewery is located, as part of your journey. We’d be delighted for you to enjoy our sake while exploring the region!
